Keep track of everything techs say and that supervisors and agents say on the phone. When they don't fix it, call again and get a supervisor. I would start calling and get techs out there every time it's a problem. Then the problem comes right back at certain times of the day, maybe when there's more activity from the customer up the line causing the issue, maybe when the temps change.Īs I've said numerous times, it seems that way too much of the time Cox can't get their heads out of the sand and actually DO something to track down the issue with upstream problems. And yes, a lot of the time the signal levels show fine when tested. It's almost always caused by noise on the line (possibly someone's messed up connection up the line causing issues for other customers), a bad amplifier or a bad tap. T3 timeouts are almost always caused by not getting a correct upstream signal returned. It seems Cox doesn't require mandatory training credentials from service techs stating they know what certain errors could be caused from in modem logs.

If Cox technicians don't know how to interpret modem logs, they should BE FIRED. This exact thing has happened to me every three months for three years (still waiting on it to happen again very soon). Has anyone seen this problem before? Any ideas on how I can correct them? Thanks! He indicated that I might want to replace the modem, but couldn't say with any certainty that it would fix my problems. He measured the signals and said they were fine, but had no explanation of why my upload speeds were bad, or why I was getting these error messages.
